After any repairs are done, it is important to treat a boat well, something that starts with its effective storage during the off season. Once winter arrives, the CYW team will pull each vessel from the river, clean down the hull with a pressure washer, and place it in its pre-assigned dedicated storage location. As touched on already, indoor and outdoor storage is available, and should a customer secure a highly coveted indoor, heated storage spot from the 300,000 sq. ft. of space available, their boat will be covered in plastic for extra protection. Once winter is over and clients get back out on the water, they can choose to utilise the Chicago Yacht Academy’s accredited and certified classes to both reduce insurance costs and charter vessels across both the US and abroad. Much more than simply a classroom-based course, hands-on experience on the water is provided as far as possible, with classes available for every skill and experience level. Beyond these training sessions and certifications, private boating lessons are also available, both as a one-off or as part of a longer programme.
